Pokémon GO’s Season of Light’s Test Your Mettle Event Guide

This week, two more Ultra Beasts have suddenly appeared in Pokémon GO, and they’re joined by plenty of Steel-type Pokémon. While we expect at least one more Ultra Beast addition in Pokémon GO (thanks to Appearance Guzzlord in the found images of Kartana and on the current Pokémon GO loading screening, which hints at a Halloween arrival), trainers will have to look up Celesteela and Kartana in Pokémon GO’s Season of Light’s Test Your Mettle event for now!

Celesteela and Kartana will be available for a little longer after the event ends, along with the newly added Mega Aggron and Togedemaru. However, if you catch them during the event, you can complete a special Timed Research “catch a bunch of Steel-type Pokémon”.

Get all the details here with our Test Your Mettle event guide:

Pokémon GO’s Season of Light – Test Your Courage

begins: Friday, September 16, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time.

Ends: Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 8 p.m. local time.

Pokémon Debuts – Kartana, Celesteela, Mega Aggron*, and Togedemaru

Kartana and Celesteela are finally here! They debuted a little earlier this week, in time for Raid Hour on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 6-7pm local time. You can fight them in 5-Star Raids (look for the Ultra Wormholes). There is only one caveat: they are exclusive to the region. Kartana will only appear in Raids in the Northern Hemisphere, while Celesteela will only appear in Raids in the Southern Hemisphere. Remote Raid time, anyone?

In Mega Raids you will find Mega Aggron* for the first time in Pokémon GO! Defeat Mega Aggron* and you’ll get a gripping encounter with Aggron* and earn some Aggron Mega Energy. Collect 200 Aggron Mega Energy and you can Evolve your own Aggron Mega!

Finally, Togedemaru (the Roly-Poly Pokémon) from the Alola region is added to Pokémon GO! You’ll find them in the wild, 1-Star Raids, and reward encounters for Field and Timed Research Tasks.

Remark: Pokémon marked with a * means “If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny!”
