first september Spotlight Hour is all about the Dream Eater Pokémon – which I honestly didn’t expect to be Munna’s officially designated category. Anyway, now is the perfect time to try and catch the newly released one shiny Munna in pokemon go.
Unfortunately, Munna is pretty useless in competitive play and raids in Pokémon Go, as is its evolved form, Musharna. However, there’s a good chance you’re still missing out on shiny given how new it is, and if you’re still in need of the 4* perfect Munna, now’s your chance to find one.
Even if you’re not fond of Munna, you should still try to catch as many Pokémon as you can during this week’s Spotlight Hour because of the double Stardust bonus that runs alongside the event.

Munna 100% Perfect IV Stats in Pokémon Go
This week’s Spotlight Hour is a great opportunity to catch a Munna with perfect IV stats.
“Perfect” means two things in Pokémon Go, depending on how you plan to use a particular Pokémon. First, there’s the maximum, 100% IV version, the 15/15/15 you’re looking for for your 4* Pokédex, raids, and Master League. But because of the way CP is calculated using three stats, a perfect IV Pokémon is generally just the best version of itself in the Master League.
Sure, you can’t see a Pokémon’s IV without catching it first, but with a little research beforehand, you can quickly find a perfect Munna based on just its CP.
If you are level 30 (or higher), ideally you are looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Munna:
The wild CP value corresponds to your trainer level until you reach level 30 and because the majority of the player base is now above this level, we have stuck to these values for simplicity. However, these values will be different if you are currently below level 30.
Is Musharna good at PVP?
The good news is that no matter what league you look at, both Munna and Musharna perform the same attacks: Charge Beam, Psyshock and Dazzling Gleam as the second charged move.
From a movement perspective, this combination isn’t great – there just isn’t enough fast movement or shield pressure to do a toe-to-weird-foot spike thing with either of these two Pokémon, and at this point it loses to most of the meta relevant Pokémon in both the Great League and Ultra League. Likewise, both are worse than useless in Master League
That said, both have the advantage of being fairly bulky, with decent stamina stats. As with all Pokémon in PVP, these two are just a few move updates away from relevance. So, if you love this cute, pillowy dream eater, you’re looking for the classic IV distribution of 0/12/15 for Great League and a 15-0-15 for Ultra League.
The season of light has arrived! Added to this is the new Special Investigation Mission, A Cosmic Companion. Elsewhere, be sure to use Daily Adventure Incense for the chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. There is also a new Special Investigation Mission: A Mysterious Incense. The Go Fest 2022 Finale also brought us two new missions: Willow’s Return and A Radiant Reunion. Don’t forget the new Prime Gaming rewards every two weeks.
Is there a shiny Munna in Pokémon Go?
Shiny Munna in Pokémon Go was released last month as part of the Go Fest 2022 Finale!
If luck is on your side, you might find a shiny Munna in the wild, but keep in mind that this isn’t Community Day and the shiny rates won’t increase, so the chance to catch one, let alone a perfect, is very low . That said, every Munna you see has the potential to shine, so it’s purely a numbers game – tap each of them and see what you get. Good luck finding the Munna you need!
To evolve your Munna into a Mushana, you will need 50 Munna candies and an Unova Stone.
What does shiny Munna look like?
As you can see below, the glossy Munna looks pretty amazing, with a lovely golden hue with green flowers to boot.
That said, its evolved form, Musharna looks pretty bland – like Game Freak has increased the saturation in red and nothing else. The pink is a little deeper and the blue is a little more purple.
Other Tips For This Spotlight Hour
Besides trying to catch a shiny Munna in Pokémon Go, there are a few other good reasons to join this week’s Spotlight Hour:
- The best reason is of course the double catch Stardust bonus runs through the hour. This gives you the chance to collect Stardust twice as fast as normal, with each Munna caught giving 200 Stardust instead of the base 100. If the weather is windy in-game, this will add an extra 50 Stardust (two times the usual 25), and this is stacking with a Star Piece to give a 1.5x multipler to all Stardust won. This means that any Munna caught in windy weather while using a Star Piece is worth it 375 Stardust!
- If you’re a newbie, this Spotlight Hour is the perfect time to collect enough Munna candies to fully evolve this Pokémon and feed all its evolutions into the Pokédex. Remember that you need a Unova Stone for each Munna you want to evolve.
- Since Munna is a psychic type, catching a lot during this Spotlight Hour will add progress to your psychic catch bonus medals.
Spotlight Hour events last only one hour – 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (local time). The September Spotlight Hours haven’t been announced yet, but check back next Tuesday for the introduction you need to get the most out of your event!
