Fortnite Creative 2.0 is closer than fans think

Fortnite Creative 2.0 is one of the most anticipated updates to the game. Rumors of his arrival have been spreading within the community for about a year now. Despite no release date being confirmed by Epic Games, prominent leakers seem to have gotten wind of something.

A few hours ago, an anonymous source claimed that Fortnite Creative 2.0 will be released sometime in the new season. This information has been shared by FNBRintel and iFireMonkey has also taken notice. Here’s what he had to say about it:

“Fortnite Creative 2.0 may be released mid-season, according to @FNBRintel. Personally, I haven’t been given an exact release date for Creative 2.0 yet, but if this rumor is true, it will be mid-December or early January.”

Since Epic has a history of releasing one major update every season, it certainly follows that pattern. However, as mentioned before, there is currently no official confirmation from the developers. Until an official statement is made about Fortnite Creative 2.0 or more evidence is gathered, this should be treated as nothing more than a rumor.

Fortnite Creative 2.0 may come together with Chapter 4

In addition to the leak from an anonymous source, there is something interesting about this development. As noted by many users and theorists, Fortnite Creative 2.0 may be released with Chapter 4 Season 1 once the current season comes to an end. If this doesn’t make sense, here’s a quick summary of all the information available.

For starters, a brand new test folder was discovered in the files towards the end of Chapter 3 Season 3. It is codenamed Asteria and is currently under development by Epic. While this may seem normal, a new card generally indicates an entirely new phase of the game. As seen in the past, each new chapter starts on a new map/island.

Epic may be working on a new map for chapter 3 season 5. Epic has updated the Epic Games launch options for the future season to test, and they include this. Originally it was just “Test Map”, now “Test Map” has been changed to Artemis , and a new map (??) is the most important?? https://t.co/3c4x50U9uT

That said, the new map doesn’t mean much on its own. However, when the in-game lore and storylines are brought into the equation, it seems likely that the current map/island will be destroyed later this season. This means that the game will have to continue next season on a completely new map/island.

There can be no new season, because a new map/island only comes at the beginning of a new chapter. Connecting the dots, the only possibility here is that Chapter 4 Season 1 is the next stage of the storyline.

Tom Henderson also said this so it’s honestly 50-50 Usually sources are very accurate so C2S5 is very possible but I suggest we go with the flow twitter.com/_Tom_Henderson…

To back up this claim, the downtime for Chapter 3 Season 5 is rumored to be about two days. Again, this is another feature at the beginning of a new chapter. As pointed out by leaker and industry insider Tom Henderson, this could very well be a placeholder, with Epic Games doing their best to hide that fact.

Nevertheless, with almost two months of playtime left in Chapter 3 Season 4, anything can still happen. Depending on how the storyline plays out, The Herald and Chrome will either consume the island or The Paradigm will find a solution to save reality. For now, players can just watch and wait for events to unfold or they can change into Chrome Gods and play a few matches to pass the time.
