Shikimaru Boruto

Update: Big spoilers for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 70 has been revealed as the chapter can now be read online. The title is From the bottom of my heart.

A small preview ad text for boruto Chapter 70 was shared on Twitter, teasing, “How will Boruto and his friends react to the threat Konoha faces…!?”

boruto Chapter 70 begins with Shikimaru asking Eida if it’s best if she wants to get closer to Kawaki, and Eida asking “Me? Are you coming to Konoha?”

Eida’s left eye starts to activate, darkens, and Code looks concerned and asks her what she is doing, telling him to shut up and that she has every right to consider this.

Her eye continues to mysteriously move and Shikimaru wonders what she is doing.

Naruto approaches the unlock panel of Amado’s lab door, and he frustratingly tells Ino that the door won’t open.

Shikimaru communicates telepathically with Naruto and apologizes to him for locking the door to protect them from the enemy’s jutsu.

Naruto asks if he’s okay and what’s going on, and Shikimaru tells him he doesn’t have time to explain and the situation is delicate. He says that he should not interfere and not destroy the expensive lock system because the budget of the village is already dwindling.

Boruto and Sasuke run after Naruto and Boruto calls his father.

Eida says the Hokage and others are trapped outside, and tells Shikimaru that he told a co-worker that he locked the door to protect them from her assets.

Shikimaru looks at her left eye again and Amado telepathically says it’s called Senrigan, allowing her to see what’s happening around the world.

Shikimaru says, “What?”, and Amado tells him that her clairvoyant ability is not limited to current events, but she can also see past events, meaning no one can hide anything from her.

Eida’s Senrigan eye stares at Shikimaru, who thinks this is unbelievable.

Shikimaru thinks it seems she couldn’t hear his conversations with Amado, and if they didn’t have Ino’s jutsu, she could look into their hearts, making him shudder.

Eida says she is surprised that she is just another Kara relic to him, and that she thought he would see her as an enemy. She tells him that he is right and that there is no need to cause animosity between her and Konoha.

Shikimaru tells her that if she continues to help Code, she will be considered Konoha’s enemy. He presents her with the choices: Konoha or Code.

Delta still looks spellbound and Code looks back while still pressing Amado against the wall.

Meanwhile, Kawaki still lies on his hospital bed, reflecting on what he’s done, and tells Sumire that if he didn’t, the Seventh Hokage would be dead by now.

He says it was the first time he was grateful that he had the karma from the bottom of his heart, and he realized he needed it.

Sumire tells Kawaki that Amado put Karma in him without his permission could be for Amado’s own ends. Kawaki seems to be thinking about that.

Back to the lab: Code tells Amado that his standstill is making things go in a strange direction, and he demands that he spill the code so he can restore his power.

Amado screams in pain as Code tortures him, and Shikimaru tells Amado to hold on, explaining that if he dies now, Code won’t be able to retract his limiters.

Shikimaru tells him that Code will kill him after he unlocks his power because he won’t need it after he gets what he wants.

Amado says he thinks he will die from the shock before that happens.

Eida tells Code to back off now and Code asks what’s going on.

She says that Kawaki is coming and that he will be here soon.

Shikimaru Boruto

Shikimaru looks surprised when he hears that Kawaki is coming, and he thinks that Kawaki can use his Sukuna Hikona ability to shrink himself and enter through the vents.

Kawaki moves quickly through the vents, and Shikimaru thinks Kawaki can undo Code’s claw marks.

Code seems concerned that Kawaki is getting close and says he was close.

Amado telepathically tells Shikimaru that there are exceptions to whom Eida can fall: blood relatives and Ohtsutsuki.

Shikimaru looks angry because Amado didn’t mention this earlier.

Amado says that if he did, Shikimaru would immediately summon Kawaki to fight Code, and Shikimaru asks what’s wrong with that.

Amado says he can’t afford to let Kawaki die, and that Kawaki’s presence must give him a headache, because he was a problem for Konoha from the start.

Amado tells Shikimaru that if he were in his shoes, it’s best for him to let Code or Kawaki – or both – die while they fight each other.

Shikimaru calls him bastard, and that he is out of line.

Ino tells both Shikimaru and Amado that this is no time to argue.

Amado says we need to get Code and Eida back and not hold them up until Kawaki gets here. He tells Shikimaru that they will have another chance to take them down, but they must first make Boruto and Kawaki stronger.

Shikimaru looks angry and suddenly Amado is pulled onto the wall by Code’s huge claw mark.

Code kicks Amado to shove him in the claw, and Shikimaru calls out Amado’s name as Delta looks on in amazement.

Eida tells Code to hurry, because Kawaki is almost there.

Shikimaru uses his shadow jutsu to stop Eida, tells Ino his technique won’t last long, and asks her where Kawaki is now.

Code calls Shikimaru a fool and asks if he wants to die so badly.

Shikimaru asks Eida what is wrong with meeting Kawaki and why she is shy.

Then Eida calls Delta to tell her she is in trouble and asks her to help her.

Shikimaru wonders what that meant, and Delta stands up to kick Shikimaru, but he dodges her attack.

However, Eida gets rid of Shikimaru’s shadow technique.

Eida tells Shikimaru she’s sorry they’re breaking up for now, and thanks him for being seductive officer.

When Eida leaves, she tells him they will meet again, and also thanks Delta and tells her she loves her.

Delta tells her she loves her too and asks her to please come visit again.

Code tells Shikimaru that he is adding his name to his dues list, so he needs to get ready.

Shikimaru tells him to get lost, and never show himself again.

Kawaki arrives late at the lab through the vents and discovers that there is none other than Delta and Shikimaru.

Meanwhile, in the Kara hideout, Amado is damned to Code when he discovers that Daemon has also been released by the villain.

Code grabs Amado and lifts him by the collar. He tells him there is no way to escape now, and asks him if he gives up.

Amado Eida

Amado asks what will happen if he retracts his limiters, if he will kill him if he does. Amado asks who would go along with this if they know they would be killed, and Code tells him he would be free from the pain and die in peace.

Amado tells him he tends to go that far, then asks what he would do if he dies from the pain of his torture, telling him he’d be the one in trouble.

Code tells him to stop yapping, and that he was annoyed to begin with.

Amado tells him that the risk is even greater and then makes an offer. He tells him that he would immediately remove his limiters without any resistance, and in return begs him to spare his life.

Code calls him pathetic and asks him if he has any pride left.

Amado says he has no interest in such useless concepts, and to stop wasting each other’s time.

Code tells him that he always has a comeback, and that he should just do it rather than engage in idle chatter.

There is a pause as Eida and Daemon watch them from a distance.

Suddenly, Amado says, there is “no dress code” and then suddenly a fierce explosion erupts between Amado and Code.

Code floats above, and he says it’s a nice feeling like he can’t lose to anyone.

Code tells Amado to forgive him as he raises his claw at him. He tells him that he will free him from the pain of his wound, from suffering, and the scene comes to an end.
