Applause Entertainment in partnership with Locomotive Global Inc. collaborated with Simon Mirren and his partner Benjamin Anderson to develop a ‘Crime Pro-serial Drama’. “Pro-serial” is a term that refers to a procedural drama series with some serialized elements in the storylines.
Deadline for Rising Star Awards 2022 entry extended to August 29.
Mirren brought the global phenomenon to India and was the creative force behind shows like ‘Waking The Dead’, ‘Spooks’, ‘Without A Trace’, ‘Versailles’ and the 15-year series ‘Criminal Minds’.
Case Closed, Mirren and his partner Anderson’s company team up with Applause and Locomotive on a pro-serial district project.
Mirren will build a creative ecosystem based on his years of expertise to enable local writers to run the show. He and Ben will then continue to work together to fully develop and produce the series. This new approach to all stages of the creative process is supported by the creative and production teams of both Locomotive and Applause.
It all starts with dedicated writers who will work closely with the team and have the opportunity to explore the creative, visual, technical language and other best practices applied in international procedural dramas. Currently in development for the first series, Simon and Ben are undergoing an experiential process to bring the show’s storylines to life by meeting with the judiciary, police experts and crime journalists in India and visiting production facilities.
