April 21-June 3: Find AAPI records in the library
The Houston Library is presenting an exhibit that highlights the history, lives and contributions of the African American and Pacific Islander community in Greater Houston. The exhibit “Our Vibrant AAPI Community” provides a glimpse of Asian immigrants and their descendants.

April 21-22: Attend an Upcycle event
The Upcycle Event is an opportunity for the community to give their old rugs a second chance by recycling or upcycling them for free. The maximum is two beds, and the fee for each additional bed is $20. The Furniture Bank also accepts donations of gently used furniture to be given to families in need. The event will also include a 50% off sale on select items for those in attendance on Friday and Saturday.
April 21-23, 27-30: See ‘Pippin’
The Lone Star College-University Park Drama Department presents “Pippin”, a Tony Award-winning musical based on the book by Roger O. Hirson with lyrics and music by Stephen Schwartz. Karley Morris will play Pippin, with Sara Tatar taking on the role of the lead character, who will serve as the narrator and guide Pippin’s journey to find happiness and purpose.
April 22-23: Attend the professional women’s golf tournament
The Chevron Championship is holding its annual professional women’s golf event in The Woodlands for the first time at The Club at Carlton Woods. The Ladies Professional Golf Association tour is one of the five major tournaments in professional women’s golf. Tickets are free for those 17 and under.

April 21: Get a seafood dinner
The Tomball Rotary Club will be hosting its annual fish fry fundraiser. Every seafood dinner includes hush puppies. The event will also feature a live band, audio and 50-50 auctions. Tickets can be purchased at Worthley’s Appliance or online.

April 21: Go to a blues festival
An evening dedicated to the music of blues artists will be held at NRG Arena during the 15th annual H-Town Blues Festival. Artists include Tucka, Calvin Richardson, Pokey Bear and Roi Anthony.

April 22: Support athletes in the Ironman Texas triathlon
The Woodlands Township is the location for the Ironman Texas Americas Championship, where spectators can watch athletes participate in various triathlon events. Athletes will participate in a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride on closed roads and a 26.2-mile run.
April 22: Celebrate Earth Day
LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch is preparing to host an Earthquake celebration in partnership with Central Green Park. Guests at the event can learn about water conservation, take home trees and plants, participate in a yoga class, and more.

April 22: Support the American Cancer Society
Join Relay For Life of Northwest Harris County in a community walk supporting the American Cancer Society. This year’s film festival will feature music, food, auction, children’s activities and a craft show.

Katy Taste Fest is celebrating its fifth year. This is a way for the Katy-area to come together and try delicious things while supporting local nonprofits that focus on the environment, food security and vulnerable children. April 22: See corgis race; raise money for an animal shelter
Kirby Ice House along with Tito’s Vodka and Karbach Brewing Co. will host. to his corgi racing team, benefiting the Houston BARC Foundation, which helps support animals in the city of Houston.

Join the Living Legacy Center in celebrating Earth Day. There will be story time, children’s activities, farming tips and a farmers market.
April 22: Join the fun run
Attendees can participate in a 5K or 1 mile fun run during the Tomball ISD Superintendent’s Fun Run with prizes awarded for the top three runners in each class. The event will also include a festival featuring student presentations, a children’s area, and a healthy and delicious party. People don’t have to go to the race to go to the festival.

April 23: Listen to live music at Jazzy Sundays
Through a grant from the Kinder Foundation, three city parks are hosting a free jazz event each week called Jazzy Sundays. For April, this series will be hosted at Discovery Green, and each concert will feature a different line-up of jazz musicians.
April 23: Enjoy yoga, coffee
Wild Spirit Yoga will host a 45-minute vinyasa yoga class followed by a coffee tasting at Copan Coffee Roasters. Guests can try four different coffee sources and take their favorite coffee home.
